Egg donor
Selecting a suitable donor
To increase the chances of finding suitable donors for our couples, we work very closely with our colleagues as part of the NEXTCLINICS group. Through cross-centre quality and training programmes, we ensure that our partner institutes also meet our high standards. In the analysis and selection processes, our team uses all currently available technical and medical means to help the couple obtain the best possible therapy.
Donors are selected according to strict criteria laid down in the EU Directive (Directive 2006/17/EC, based on Directive 2004/23/EC). We pay attention not only to medical and health aspects, but also try to achieve physical similarities between the donor and the recipient. Physical characteristics such as skin, hair and eye colour, height etc., as well as anthropometric data, blood group, rhesus factor and much more are documented and thoroughly analysed and evaluated by our team of specialists (a match of all characteristics cannot be guaranteed).
In order to obtain an overall picture, the donor's personal and family circumstances are also recorded.
On the basis of these extensive analyses and information, our specialists decide which donor is suitable.
The chances of an intact pregnancy after IVF therapy with egg donation are very good
if the treatment meets the highest medical standards and is carried out by an experienced team.
